Tab Reader Aloud
A Chrome extension that reads the open tab — or just your selection — out loud with your browser's built-in voices. No account, no server, no per-word fees.
Try the reader right here (this page uses the same Web Speech API the extension uses)
Your browser has no speech voices available. Chrome, Edge and Safari do.
What the extension does
- Read page — picks the page's article/main text and reads it.
- Read selection — highlight a paragraph, read only that.
- Voice and speed are remembered. Pause, resume, stop.
- Permissions:
activeTab,scripting, storage— it only touches the tab you click it on.

$15
One-time. The packaged extension (Manifest V3) + full source + install guide. Load it unpacked in Chrome, Edge or Brave. No subscription.
Honest note: voices are whatever your OS/browser ships (quality varies by system). It does not use a paid cloud voice. Chrome Web Store listing is not live yet; the $15 package installs via "Load unpacked".
